The LithoQB team attended a geophysical seminar at the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS dedicated to spectral decomposition and spectral-time analysis of seismic data.
The presentation was given by Alexander V. Butorin, Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences and leading expert at Gazprom Neft Group, Saint Petersburg. The talk was based on materials from his doctoral dissertation and focused on methods that help extract additional information about target intervals from the seismic wavefield.
For LithoQB, participation in such seminars is important as an opportunity to learn from specialists working at the intersection of scientific research, industrial interpretation, and domestic software development.
The approaches discussed are close to the project's direction: creating a tool that helps interpreters work with seismic data in a more meaningful, transparent, and controlled way.
